Privacy Policy गोपनीयता नीति

Effective Date: 2026-08-19 Last Updated: 2026-08-19
This Privacy Policy explains how Saransh Dainik collects, uses, protects and manages information across our news website (saranshdainik.com) and Android mobile application. Please read it carefully before using our Services.

Saransh Dainik (operated by Saransh News Network) is committed to protecting the privacy of every visitor and user of our news website and Android mobile application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website saranshdainik.com and our Android application, together referred to as the “Services”.

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Introduction

Saransh Dainik is a digital news publication that provides local, national and community news, along with features such as daily horoscope, weather, videos, Business World directory and live radio. We operate primarily for an Indian audience and follow applicable Indian data-protection and information-technology laws, along with good-practice privacy standards.

This policy applies to information collected through our website and our Android app. It does not apply to third-party websites, applications or services that we do not control, even if you reach them through links on our Services.

2. Information We Collect

We collect two broad categories of information: information you provide to us and information collected automatically when you use the Services. We only collect information that is reasonably necessary to operate a news website and app and to provide the features you use.

3. Information You Provide

Depending on how you use the Services, you may provide us with:

  • Newsletter subscription: your email address, mobile number and your consent, when you subscribe to receive news updates by email or SMS/WhatsApp-style alerts.
  • Contact messages: your name, email address, mobile number and the content of your message, when you use our Contact page.
  • Comments: the name, email address and comment content you post on news articles (where comments are enabled).
  • User accounts: your name, email address, mobile number, password (stored only as a secure hash) and optional profile image, if you register.
  • Business World listings: business name, category, contact details, address and images, when you submit a business listing to our Business World directory.
  • Poll responses and other interactions: information you voluntarily submit through polls, feedback or similar features.

We do not ask for sensitive personal information (such as government identifiers, financial account details or health information) to use the basic news features of the Services.

4. Information Automatically Collected

When you visit our website or use our app, certain technical information may be collected automatically, including:

  • Internet Protocol (IP) address and approximate geographic region derived from it.
  • Browser type, device type, operating system and app version.
  • Pages and articles viewed, time spent, referral sources and the dates/times of visits.
  • Crash and performance data from the mobile app, where enabled.

This information helps us understand how readers use the Services, improve performance and prevent abuse.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar local-storage technologies for purposes including:

  • Remembering your language preference and site settings.
  • Security, including the protection against cross-site request forgery (CSRF) tokens.
  • Remembering that you have seen the cookies notice.
  • Analytics and (where enabled) advertising, through third-party services described below.

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you disable cookies, some parts of the website may not function fully.

6. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Publish and deliver news, features and other content you request.
  • Send newsletters and updates you have subscribed to.
  • Send push notifications to the Android app when you have enabled them.
  • Respond to your enquiries, comments and business-listing submissions.
  • Maintain and improve the website and app, including security, troubleshooting and performance monitoring.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

7. Newsletters and Subscriber Information

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we store your email address, mobile number, consent record and subscription time so that we can send you the updates you asked for. Your details are used only for the subscription service you requested and related administrative purposes. You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in our emails, the unsubscribe page on our website, or by contacting us (see the Contact section below).

8. Push Notifications

Our Android app can send push notifications to your device when you have granted permission. Notifications may cover breaking news, daily horoscope, weather alerts and other updates. You control notifications at any time through your device settings (Android Settings → Apps → Saransh Dainik → Notifications) or by turning them off inside the app. Disabling notifications does not affect your ability to read news inside the app.

9. Mobile Application Data

The Android app provides the same news content as the website. The app communicates with our servers over encrypted HTTPS connections. Sensitive server credentials, database details or private configuration values are never delivered to the app; the app only receives public content and public configuration required to display it. If you enable push notifications, the app sends a device registration token to our servers so we can deliver notifications to your device.

10. Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM)

To deliver push notifications, our app uses Firebase Cloud Messaging, a service provided by Google. When you enable notifications, a device token is stored by us and shared with Google’s Firebase service solely for the purpose of delivering notifications. Google’s privacy practices apply to that service. We do not use FCM to collect personal information about you beyond the token required to deliver the notifications you requested.

11. Advertising and Third-Party Services

Our website may display advertising, including Google AdSense advertisements and direct/manual advertisement placements. Advertisers or advertising platforms may use cookies or similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Where advertising is served by a third party, that party’s own privacy policy governs its use of data. You can learn more about Google’s advertising practices and your choices at Google’s privacy and advertising settings pages. We do not knowingly share your personal information with advertisers for their own purposes.

12. Analytics

If analytics is enabled on the website, we use website analytics tools (which may include Google Analytics) to understand aggregate usage patterns such as the number of visitors, popular articles and traffic sources. These tools may set cookies and collect anonymised or aggregated data. We use this information to improve our content and services. You can opt out of Google Analytics for the web by using Google’s available opt-out browser tools.

Our articles and pages may contain links to external websites (for example, social-media platforms such as Facebook, X/Twitter and Instagram, government sources and other news sites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those external sites. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of any external site you visit. Embedded content (such as video players) may load from third-party domains, and those providers may set cookies or collect data in accordance with their own policies.

14. YouTube Content

Our Videos section displays video content hosted on YouTube. When you play a video, YouTube (a Google service) may process data such as your IP address and viewing information in accordance with Google’s privacy policy. We do not control YouTube’s data practices.

15. Location Information

Our weather feature may ask for access to your device location (with your permission) so it can show weather for your area. Location access is optional: if you do not grant it, we show a default location. Location is used only to provide the weather feature and is not stored as part of your profile. You can revoke location permission at any time through your browser or device settings.

16. Business World Submissions

Our Business World directory lets business owners submit their business details for listing. The information you submit (business name, category, contact details, address and images) is used to create and display your listing. Contact details you submit may be visible to site visitors as part of the public listing. Please do not submit information you do not want displayed publicly.

17. Comments and User-Generated Content

Where commenting is available, the content you post and the display name you provide become public and may be shown alongside the article. We may moderate or remove comments that violate our community standards. Please do not share personal or sensitive information in public comments.

18. Data Retention

We keep your information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. For example, subscriber records are kept while a subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, and are removed when you unsubscribe or upon request. Aggregate and technical logs are retained for security and operational purposes and then deleted or anonymised.

19. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including the use of encrypted HTTPS connections, secure password hashing, restricted administrative access and careful handling of server configuration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the data we hold. As noted above, sensitive server credentials are never delivered to the public app or website front-end.

20. Children’s Privacy

The Services are general-audience news services and are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

21. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Ask us to delete your information (where applicable).
  • Withdraw consent you previously gave, such as for newsletters or notifications.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.

To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in the Contact section below. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.

22. Unsubscribe and Notification Controls

You can stop receiving communications from us at any time:

  • Newsletters: use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email, or visit our unsubscribe page.
  • Push notifications: disable notifications in your Android device settings or inside the app.
  • Location: revoke location permission in your browser or device settings.

23. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal requirements. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page shows when the policy was last revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically. Where material changes are made, we will update the date and, where appropriate, notify you through the Services.

24. Contact Information

If you have questions, concerns or requests about this Privacy Policy or how your information is handled, please contact us using the contact details shown in the Contact box on this page, or through our Contact page. We will make reasonable efforts to respond to your query.
